All instructional planning should be rooted in prescribed standards, proceed from a clear picture of students’ existing knowledge and skills and be revised and adjusted according to student progress.
Instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities, strategies and assessments in order for students to clearly demonstrate their achievement of the expectations for learning.
A high degree of engagement in the learning process, characterized by a spirit of curiosity, best supports students in the  development of creative, critical and divergent thinking skills which are essential to their achievement.
 

*The New Crusaders are caring people, dedicated to the Catholic faith who value their diversity as a gift from God. *The emblem of the Sacred Heart New Crusaders appears on a shield, signifying faithfulness to the teachings of Jesus Christ. *The cross in the upper corner is a reminder that, though confident in one's abilities, one must remain humble, just as Jesus humbled himself for us. *The Fleur-De-Lis in the lower corner, a symbol of the Trinity, signifies one's responsibility to assure that faith is the basis of all of one's actions. *The school initials also call to mind the three attributes of a Sacred Heart school student:  Scholarship, Sportsmanship and Heart. *The New Crusaders, at their best, are responsible students, good sports and worthy competitors who encourage and support one another. *They endeavor to serve God by serving others humbly, always with an open heart. *The color red signifies the courage to live by one's beliefs, in or out of the classroom and in all athletic endeavors.
