8th Grade Scholarship Information

Thanks to all of the families that attended the Teacher's Association fundraiser at Adornetto's Restaurant. We raised $1,129.03! We will award $250 scholarships for two of our 8th grade students to attend a Catholic high school. The remaining $629.03 will be used to help bring an author or special speaker to St. Francis for our students during the 2008-09 school-year.

Just an fyi: the last day of school (May 30th)
we will be releasing at 1:45pm. You will also need to
make arrangements to pick up your children that day, as
the busses will not be running in the afternoon.

May Cafeteria Volunteer Calendar
This week was D.E.A.R. week. Student council members
came over the P.A. everyday this week and told us to
"Drop Everything And Read" for 10 minutes.
We did this to remind everyone to
make reading on a daily basis a priority.
Student Council members also went
into the K-4 classrooms and read books to students.
Thank you to Student Council for a great idea and a worthwhile event!

Due to a scheduling conflict for Father Bob, we will
not have a school mass on Friday, April 18th. The "Coffee
with the Principal" will take place at 10am in Johnson Hall
as previously planned. Thank you.

Protecting God’s Children Session will be held here at St. Francis on Saturday, May 10th from 9am to 12:30pm. Remember, in order to volunteer around or with children of the diocese or in any diocese facility you must have attended a session and have a background check on file in the parish and/or school office. Please go to www.virtus.org to sign up. If you do not have access to the internet, please call Christy McNabb at ext. 224 to register over the phone.
Do you like to meet new people? Looking to help out in the parish, but can only do weekends?
Do you need volunteer hours?
If you answered yes, then we have the perfect ministry for you! The Parish Office would like to offer Sunday hours to our parishioners who need to make updates to their address/phone, pick up or drop off items, register as a parishioner, etc. We’d like to get enough volunteers to do a 4 or 5 week rotation. The hours would be from 9am to 12noon on Sundays. If this sounds like something you would like to do, please call Christy at the Parish Office 345-9874 ext. 224 to sign up!
