“A Day in the Life of…” our students at St. Francis

  Mike H. – 8th

"The life of an 8th grader is complicated at times. We have many tests, lots of homework, and some great classes.  The teachers are fun, although some classes are hard. Reasons to come to St. Francis:  awesome teachers, sweet science lab, and high technology."

Jenna H. – 7th

"Today our first class was specials. We had gym and we played scooter hand ball. Next, we had Language Arts and worked on our magazine articles for the 7th grade magazine. Then we went to Science class and watched a movie about 3-D perspectives. We went to lunch and then had recess. In Math, we learned about formulas for classifying solids. Then we went to Social Studies and learned about ancient China and parts of Asia. In Religion, we took a family life test.  During the day I didn’t have much time to talk to my friends because we were busy most of the time, but today was fun. Reasons for coming to St. Francis: We are in a Catholic environment and we are free to talk about our Faith."

 Kevin C. – 6th grade

"A couple weeks ago the 6th grades from St Francis and Blessed Sacrament went to Camp Ohio. It was a lot of fun. We did a team challenge where we had to fit a lot of people on a tiny block of wood. We also did a zipline and a Native American Exhibit that was a lot of fun. The whole trip taught us to work as a team and to trust and love each other. All together it was an awesome experience! Reasons for coming to St. Francis: Lots of friends are here, great teachers, and a good education."

"My day in the fifth grade was very fun because we studied in fun ways and the teachers are great.  In Music, you are able to play a recorder and fun songs. Gym is fun because you play a lot of games. Recess you can do whatever you want and play and talk to your friends. At the end of the day you go home and sometimes you feel that you want to come back and see your friends. Sometimes you want to see your friends so much you wish that your life was at school most of the time. Reasons for coming to St. Francis: What I like best about St. Francis is being able to learn more and more about God, seeing my friends, going to church, and I love learning more about new things every day. Seeing my teachers is fun too."

"A day in the life of a 4th grader is really fun. In the morning you start with Religion. After Religion is Math. Then we go to Mrs. Durham’s, then to specials like Gym, Music, or Library.  When we get back we have lunch and recess. Then we go back to Mrs. Durham's and do Language Arts and Reading. Some fun things about St. Francis are that we get to learn about Jesus and there are great people to be friends with. Reasons for coming to St. Francis: I like going to St. Francis because we have Mass on Fridays and the teachers help us understand what the math lesson is about if we don’t get it right the first time."

"I got to school today and we had Reading and Religion. We also went to lunch and had outside recess. Today at the end of the day I will go to Music class. Reasons for coming to St. Francis: I like that the teachers are always very nice."
