Francis DeSales High School Mission Statement
|
|
The mission of St. Francis DeSales High School is to provide
an educational experience in the Catholic tradition which prepares each
student spiritually, intellectually, aesthetically, and socially to live
a positive, productive life.
Primary Beliefs:
1. Overall student development (spiritual, moral, intellectual) through teaching
the Catholic faith and offering an excellent educational experience is the
priority of the school.
2. Students, faculty, and staff must be provided with a positive and
encouraging environment in which to experience moral and spiritual growth
in their faith mission.
3. Faith formation, understanding the Gospel message, is experienced
through participation in Catholic Eucharistic liturgy, paraliturgy, prayer,
and service to others.
4. All students can learn.
5. Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social,
emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs.
6. Successful curriculum and instructional practices, guided by clear
goals and high expectations, incorporate a variety of learning activities
to accommodate differences in learning styles.
7. A variety of assessment formats, suitable to the learning activity
and learning styles, should be used to demonstrate student achievement.
8. Teachers, administrators, parents, students. and the community share
the responsibility for advancing the school's mission.
9. The school must continue to grow if it is to meet the needs of our
students in an ever changing, culturally diverse, world..
