In-The-Know Academic Quiz Bowl Team

Do you enjoy watching Jeopardy? Do you know most the answers to the questions the teachers ask in class? Can you do math in your head? Do you like to be challenged by school work?

The St. Francis DeSales High School In-The-Know Team is a member of the North-East Area In-The-Know League. This is a nine team league that competes in an academic quiz bowl format. Each match consists of a varsity and reserve contest of the competing teams held at a third league member school. The third school provides the questions from many different subject areas for the other two teams. Each team consists of four players. Varsity matches are made up of two 15 minute halves and reserve matches are 10 minute halves. The I-T-K league season runs from mid-October to mid-February.

Running concurrently with the league season is the WOSU-TV In-The-Know Tournament. This is a varsity single elimination tournament broadcast on WOSU-TV, Channel 34.

Practices for these competitions begin the second week of classes in September. The practices are typically held on Monday and Thursday from 3:10 to 4:00 in the School Media Center.
