Welcome:
My name is Jim Slack and I am the new Guidance Counselor at Bishop Rosecrans High
School. I have a B.A. in History from Otterbein College, B.S. in Secondary Education and
M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from The Ohio State University.
I have extensive work experience with teenagers in various capacities:
I began my career in educational service as a Social Studies teacher at Morgan High School
- Neighborhood Youth Corps - Zanesville
- Franklin county Children's Services - Columbus
- Ohio Department of Health - Alcohol and Drug Counseling
- Muskingum County Juvenile Court
and then worked twenty-five years as Guidance Counselor at Meadowbrook High School.
While at Meadowbrook I was Student Council Advisor for twenty years and formed the
Meadowbrook Academic Boosters in 1990. I was also instrumental in the initiation of the
Guernsey County Big Brothers / Big Sisters program in 1987.
I am pleased to be here to assist the students at Bishop Rosecrans High School along with

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:45 am to 11:30 am. On Tuesday and Thursday my
office hours are from 11:45 am to 3:00 pm.
