Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) I   Prerequisite: Grade 'C' or above in #850

CAD is an entry level course in technical drawing.  Students are introduced to the principles that govern the graphic representation of physcial objects and the relationships necessary to communicate technical ideas and information.  Students utilize computer software in order to prepare drawings that communicate information concerning physical objects.  Major topics covered include: introduction to the graphic language, freehand sketching, introduction to CAD software, graphic geometry, multi-view projection, dimensioning, sectional views, auxiliary views, and pictorial drawing.

Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) II  Prerequisite: CAD I

CAD II is an intermediate course that continues the study begun in CAD I.  Further topics of study include: threads and fasteners, revolutions, developments and intersections, cams and gears, structural drawing, and architectural drawing.
