Message from the
Principal:
Dear visitors to
the All Saints Academy School Website,
It
is my pleasure to speak with you about this amazing
school. You may think that just because I work here I
say this, but I truly believe this statement to be
true. In today’s world we hope to nurture and guide the
young people to recognize a world of hope, love,
charity, and forgiveness. We want them to look at
others through the eyes of God and see all the good that
has been created for the world. Every moment of every
day may not yield total joy or happiness, but we believe
that with the strength and support of others and God we
can move past the hurtful moments and see God working in
our lives.
Here at All Saints Academy, we have a school of diverse
learners working with skilled staff and faculty to
become the people we were created to be. We look beyond
the immediate differences to find how we are alike in
the eyes of God. Guiding these young people by helping
them with problem solving, critical thinking, moral
development, forgiveness, and care is something we work
on daily.
Our curriculum is
developed by the Diocese of Columbus and utilizes the
Common Core standards and 21st century skills
to help the students learn in a way that will help them
when they leave our building. Religion is taught daily
and is a core element of who we are. We do accept
students from all religions, race, color, or ethnicity,
but our Catholic identity is strong and all students
participate in the religion activities of the school.
We
have a Principal Advisory Board that helps with building
decisions and work. Some of their work includes the
annual Career Day and Health Fair as well as a
PR/Marketing group. We also have a Home and School
Association (HASSA) who works to provide fundraising
dollars, community activities, and cheerleaders for the
school and staff. Some of their events include
skating parties, Lunch on the Lawn, Family dances,
Charity drives, and more. Volunteerism is both required
and encouraged here at All Saints Academy and all
families must complete as least 30 hours of service
during the school year. Our students in the junior high
also are required to do service and younger students
have this as a part of their classes as well.
All
Saints Academy has been a part of the community since
2004. Prior to this, the building was known as Christ
the King Elementary. St. Thomas, St. Philip, and Christ
the King elementary schools all combined under the
direction of the Diocese of Columbus to become All
Saints Academy. There is rich tradition and I am happy
to be a part of this community. We hope that you find
plenty of information from our website and if you have
questions please contact us. We would love to talk with
you about this wonderful place.
Yours in Christ,
Laura Miller, principal |
