Founders of
Faith Award
This award is available to anyone, male or female, youth or adult
who is at least 11 years old and registered in Scouting. The purpose of
the program is to help participants explore the growth of Catholicism in
the United States and
specifically in Ohio, through the biographies of key leaders and the

the 2003 Ohio bicentennial celebration and the
135th anniversary of the Catholic Diocese of Columbus.

International
Awareness
The International Awareness program was developed by the International
Catholic Conference on Scouting to celebrate the role of Scouting in the
Catholic Church throughout the world, by providing an opportunity for
participants to meet together as friends in the Catholic Church. In this
program, Scouts learn more about Scouts and Catholics living in other
countries, and attend a Divine Liturgy or a Mass celebrated in a Catholic
Church of a different national background or of a different rite from
their own. This is a non-restrictive activity and may be earned by any
youth or adult, male or female, Catholic or other.
For more information, please contact
cathcmtescouting@aol.com.
Red Sash of
Merit
The Red Sash of Merit serves as an award
for outstanding Catholic Scouts in the Diocese of Columbus, usually high
school students, who have already earned the Ad Altare Dei Emblem (Boy
Scouts) or Marian Medal (Girl Scouts). These Scouts demonstrate
leadership, accept responsibility, and are active in their troop,
community, and parish.

user friendly for any family, Troop, Crew or other group in its endeavors
to build camaraderie and a better understanding of the life of John Paul
II. A five-inch patch is earned by completing the requirements for ones
current age, within these categories: first through fifth grade; sixth
