1. Help Kohl's recognize outstanding
young volunteers! Working together to make things better - that's what
volunteering is all about! Each year, through our Kohl's Kids Who Care®
program, Kohl's rewards outstanding young people, ages six through 18, for their
community service. This year, Kohl's will recognize more than 1,250 young
volunteers, and will award $186,000 in scholarships for post-secondary
education. In addition, Kohl's will award a $1,000 grant to a nonprofit
partner on behalf of each of our 10 national winners.
Kohl's Department Stores would like
to partner with you to help communities celebrate and be inspired by these young
volunteers. We believe their efforts go a long way toward building caring,
safe neighborhoods, and our surveys have shown that recognizing youth for their
efforts helps to keep them motivated and on the right track.
You can help kids receive
scholarships! Kohl's encourages you to help them find these outstanding
volunteers. Your connection to youth and the community will help ensure
that parents, educators, nonprofit organizations and people who are the
beneficiaries of these acts of kindness, have the opportunity to nominate youth
to be recognized by Kohl's and the entire community.
Kohl's will accept nominations for
this program from February 1 through
March 15, 2005. They will recognize young volunteers at three levels
beginning with the announcement of two winners from each store. These
local winners will then be entered into the regional competition, and the
program will culminate with the announcement of our 10 national winners.
Kohl's corporate Web site has all the
information you need. From this site you can download the official rules
and nomination form, as well as promotional materials. Please visit them
at www.kohlscorporation.com.
Kohl's locations opening after
January 1, 2005 will not be participating in the program. Completed
nomination forms may be returned to any participating Kohl's customer service
desk, or mailed to your participating Kohl's store. For the store nearest
you call 1-800-837-1500 or visit the corporate web site.
Kohl's knows you are as proud of
America's young volunteers as they are. Please help them recognize young
volunteers by posting the enclosed program information and talking to your
friends, family and members of your community to encourage them to take a moment
and nominate an outstanding youth.
