2.    Weekly Religion Ideas:
For Teachers:  During the Advent season we begin to ponder questions about "Our Story" as Catholics.  What Makes Us Catholic:  Eight Gifts for Life is an excellent tool in this exploration of our faith.  Written in the spirit of the Second Vatican Council, this book explores those brighter elements of Catholicism that make it strong and, according to the author, still worthy of belief during this climate of disenchantment.  The author is Thomas H. Groome a professor of Theology at Boston College, and leading theologian in the area of Religious Education.  Published by Harper:  San Francisco 2002

Curriculum Ideas:  Any teachers need some great project for the Advent season???  Well, the Catechist Magazine for November/December has a lot of great ideas to get the children thinking about keeping "Christ in Christmas."  Wonder how Greek children celebrate Christmas?  How about having a birthday cake for Jesus?  They also have some great family activities that can be sent home.  This magazine series is full of fabulous articles and helpful hints every month.   Check it out!
