IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. For Teachers: The
Religion Teacher's Journal for September, October and November/December
has key concepts to stress when teaching about: "Sacraments", (Celebrating
Sacraments); "The Bible" (Make Room for Scripture); "Ecumenism and World
Religions" (Children of Other Religions); "Church History" (Returning to Our
Roots); "Prayer" (Helping People Pray); and "Catechesis" Catechetical
topics such as "Lesson Planning" in September; "Including Families in
Catechesis" in October and in Catechist Magazine in the September and
October issues "Strategies for Implementing the Six Tasks of Catechesis".
Curriculum Ideas: "What's Your
Catholic IQ" in Catechist Magazine for intermediate, junior and senior
high students, and adults. "Symbols and Seasons" in Religion Teacher's
Journal for September, October and November/December.

website which helps catechists discuss and share ideas from across the country:

As we remember those who have died
during this month of November, there is an explanation of purgatory in
paragraphs 1030-1032 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (The
Final Purification, or Purgatory).
2. Conference for Kindergarten Teachers: The 5th annual conference for Ohio kindergarten teachers will be held on February 19-20, 2003 at the Hilton Columbus. Teachers may receive .5 CEUs for each day of participation. Graduate credit is also available. Register on-line at www.SDE.com.
3. Second Reminder: The Diocesan LPDC meets at St. Anthony School on Thursday, December 12th. Teachers should submit IPDPs or requests for CEU credit to the Diocesan Personnel Office, 197 East Gay Street, Columbus 43215.
4. Principal Opening: The
pastor of Saint Andrew School, Columbus will be initiating a search for a
principal for the 2003-04 school year. Interested applicants must be
practicing Catholics and must possess - or be eligible for - Ohio Administrative
certification or licensure.
