IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1. Weekly Religion Ideas:
For
the Teacher - Inviting God In by Joyce Rupp is an inspirational
prayer book that allows you to dive into scripture through simple stories and
meditations. It is organized by the seasons of the Church year and the
meditations are condensed into one page. "God is always there, always
waiting for our invitation to come in." Ave Maria Press: 2001
www.avemariapress.com.
For the
Classroom - Keeping with the theme of Scripture for our resources this week,
the Catechist Magazine has two wonderful articles around Scripture.
Women and Their Roles speaks to the position women had during the time of
Jesus' ministry. Prisca and Phoebe are just a few of these Biblical women
who are discussed. This article gives a new outlook on Scripture and the
importance of women in the Bible. The second article that is a great
resource would be Appreciating Our Jewish Roots. As educators we
are aware that the study of Judaism is essential in understanding Scripture but
especially in the area of Jesus' life, death and resurrection. The author
discusses Abraham, Moses and Jesus, in connection with their Jewish roots and
the early Church.
