1. Bearing Witness:
Anti-Semitism, the Holocaust, and Contemporary Issues: Join Catholic
school educators from across the country for a five day intensive educational
workshop in Washington D.C. (July 26-30.) The National Bearing
Witness summer institute focuses on the history of anti-Semitism and the
Holocaust, addressing issues of diversity, prejudice, and bigotry in
contemporary society and teaching these topics in a Catholic school setting.
Middle school and high school teachers of history, social studies, religion, and
English are encouraged to apply. To receive an application for the

2. Science Days at Wyandot Lake:
Experiment with fun this year and bring your science lab outdoors.
Wyandot Lake will host the 8th Annual Science Days on Wednesday, Thursday, and
Friday May 19-21. This is an innovative and fun way to incorporate science
into the classroom. Gates open at 9:30 am and admission is $15.00 per
person, which includes lunch.

3. Math That Really Counts: a
workshop for teachers of pre-K through
grade 2: Literature based math activities are included in this
workshop to grab students' attention and hold it to the end of your lesson.
Maximize your planning time with lessons that include a wide variety of creative
ideas to hit the national math standards. Each set of activities will
include a resource list of literature titles and web sites where appropriate.
This workshop will be presented in
Columbus on April 8 at the Holiday Inn West, 2350 Westbelt Drive. For

4. The Columbus Area Writing Project:
The Summer Institute is an intensive, professional development program for all
teachers including elementary, middle, secondary, and college/university
teachers, regardless of subject area. It will run from June 21 through
July 15, Monday through Thursday, from 9am until 1pm. Participants will
deepen their expertise in the teaching of writing by learning from and with each
other. Participants in the Summer Institute can receive three graduate
credit hours of OSU course credit and they may be eligible for three CEU
credits.
