For Teachers - Who Are My Brothers and Sisters? is a Catholic educational guide for understanding and welcoming immigrants and refugees.  This United States Catholic Conference of Bishops guide provides lesson plans, handouts, retreats, meetings for every age in our parishes and schools.

For Classroom - Who Are My Sisters and Brothers?  Understanding and Welcoming Immigrants and Refugees Video is an up-close and personal look at some of the human faces behind the immigration debate in our nation.  This is a publication of the USCCB and the Office of Refugee and Migration.  Publication No. 5-053.  To order, call USCCB, (800) 235-8722.

Unity in Diversity:  A Scriptural Rosary - This brochure brings together two wonderful traditions of the Catholic Church - praying the rosary and celebrating unity within diversity.  This video includes prayers for the 15 mysteries and instructions on praying the rosary.  This video focuses on the three themes of the U.S. bishops' statement, Welcoming the Stranger Among Us:  Unity in Diversity, conversion, communion, and solidarity.  From the Office of Migration and Refugee Services.  To order, call USCCB (800) 235-8722.

Resources - The Capital Campaign for Human Development website created by the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops is a tremendous resource for every teacher/catechist and student.  It deals with the issue of poverty in America and how it will continue to rise if we don't take steps to reverse this dilemma.  A few of the key components of this site are:  a multimedia gallery, news updates on poverty, fact lists, an educational center, poverty quizzes and a very powerful virtual tour of poverty in America.  Whether for curriculum or the call of discipleship, this is a resource not to be passed up!  www.usccb.org/cchd/povertyusa/index.htm.

An awesome new video series from Family Theater Productions deals with many critical issues such as alcoholism, racial tensions, family struggles and teenage death.  Each teenager must use critical thinking and morality to find a health and spiritual ending to their struggles.  Each video is inspiring and an attention getter.  I am sure any junior high or high school student will feel engaged and challenged by the situation presented.
