IMPORTANT INFORMATION

1.    Opportunity to Study Minority Cultures in China for Two Weeks:  The Office of International Affairs at The Ohio State University will offer the two week program from June 14-30, 2004.  Cost of the program is tuition plus $2,650.00 which includes airfare, room and board, visa fees, and program excursions.  The program focuses on the folklore of select ethnic minority groups of southwest China, in the Yunnan Province and minority groups of southwest China.  Contact Jeff McKibben, mckibben.1@osu.edu (614-292-6101) for more information.

2.    The Circle of Bliss:  Buddhist Meditational Art at the Columbus Museum of Art:  Experience the splendor, mystery, and powerful imagery of The Circle of Bliss..."  The New York Times called the Circle of Bliss "a big, luxuriant display of truly fabulous religious images that represents a major exhibition of Buddhist objects that shows how beauty can be placed in the service of ideas."  The exhibit will be on display at the Columbus Museum of Art from February 6 through May 9.

3.    Manipulative Magic Workshop:  Make math fun for you and your students with these creative and unique activities that add to what you are already doing.  Make and play many of the games and use them in your classroom the very next day.  Bring math into all areas of your curriculum including reading with these fantastic math activities that are great for the whole group, small group, and centers.  This workshop is geared to teachers of Pre-K and first grade.   It will be held in Columbus on March 23 at the Holiday Inn, 2350 Westbelt Drive, Columbus, Ohio.  For more information:  www.etntraining.com (1-800-864-4077).

5.    Principal Openings:

A)  Archdiocese of Cincinnati
    Holy Angels School, a Catholic elementary school (K-8) in Dayton, is seeking applicants for the position of Principal.  Applicants should possess superior leadership qualities, have teaching experience, and hold a State of Ohio Principal License.  Having celebrated its 100th anniversary last year, Holy Angels School is a vibrant and caring environment that fosters traditional values while providing an excellent educational program.  This 270+ student parish school has a dedicated and experienced faculty with active parental support.  Interested persons should contact Holy Angels Parish at 937-222-7807 for an application packet.  Applications must be received by March 5, 2004.

B)  Diocese of Steubenville
    All Saints Central School in Steubenville, Ohio is seeking a Principal for the 2004-2005 year.  All Saints is a central grade school for the Catholic parishes of Holy Name Cathedral, St. Anthony's, St. Peter's, and St. Stanislaus with approximately 120 students in grades PK-8.  The school is accredited by the Ohio Catholic School Accreditation Association (OCSAA).

    -Master's Degree highly desirable
