4.    Weekly Religion Ideas:

Teachers:  Do you need a refresher on Catholic basics for the classroom, home, or for your personal enrichment?  The publishers at Loyola Press have a series of books called Catholic Basics:  A Pastoral Ministry Series, which gives wonderful insight in our Catholic faith.  The eight book series covers topics such as Scripture, morality, Church history, Mary and the Saints and Christology (the study of Christ).  The series is very user friendly and consist of approximately 130 pages per book, a good weekend read.

Classroom:  The major question that most Catholic educators ask is how do we connect the generation of our students to the Catholic Culture?  Could you use music by Matchbox 20, Sugar Ray, Goo Goo Dolls, or Ricky Martin in developing your lesson plan?  Would your students love to watch Patch Adams, Titanic or Meet Joe Black in class?  It is possible to do it all with a fabulous book by High-time*Pflaum called Jesus in Modern Media:  Reaching Teens through Film and Music.  It is a great resource for the religion courses and for prayer, but it has many possibilities.  Are you studying the Titanic in history class, how about using this book to develop a prayer or meditation to fit your course of study?  There are many ways to integrate this book into any classroom setting!
