2.    Summer Language Arts Program (grades 5-8):  Mindy Mays, fifth grade teacher at Holy Spirit School, will be offering a summer Language Arts program for students in grades 5-8.  The program will run June 13-17, June 20-24, and
June 27-July 1 from 10 am until 11 am.  There is a twenty dollar registration fee for a workbook and a one hundred fifty dollar fee for the three weeks.
To find out more information about the program, contact Mindy Mays at mmays@cdeducation.org.

3.    Last LPDC Meeting:  The Diocese of Columbus LPDC will meet for the last time this school year on June 9 at Saint Anthony School.  Teachers who need CEU credits or IPDPs approved should submit information to the Diocesan Personnel Office before the June 9 date.
Teachers taking course work over the summer to renew a license are reminded that transcripts are needed ASAP after the coursework is completed in order to avoid the State Department "penalty" for late renewal.

4.    On-Line License Renewal:  The State Department is not yet ready to renew licenses on-line.  Dr. Susan Zelman, State Superintendent of Schools, noted that "very soon educators will be able to renew...on line via CORE".
        Stay tuned!

Congratulations to
...Lauren West, fifth grade student at Sacred Heart School, New Philadelphia, who was selected as the Tuscarawas County winner of the Statewide 2006 Family Well-Being Calendar contest co-sponsored by the Ohio Children's Trust Fund and the Family and Children First Council.

Sympathy is extended to
...the family and friends of Steve Kerscher, former teacher at Saint Philip School, who died recently.
