Heritage Productions, 1991

The Visual Bible:  Acts

Visual Entertainment, Inc./NEST, 1997

Share the times of mystery and wonder that follow the resurrection of Jesus.  Walk with the risen Lord.  Bear witness as he is taken up into heaven.  Experience the transforming power of Pentecost.  And catch fire, as the passionate eloquence of Peter and John sends the flame of faith racing through Jerusalem.

Miraculous healings. Mysterious escapes from prison.  Angelic encounters.  Experience them all with Peter, Philip, John, and the others, as the infant church struggles and grows, and takes firm root in Jewish hearts.  Then on the road to Damascus with the Pharisee Saul, witness the unfolding of a greater purpose that will change the world forever.  Share the shattering encounter with Jesus that transforms the young faith's greatest enemy into its boldest voice…as the reborn Paul discovers his destiny as a "light for the Gentiles."

Journey with Paul, Barnabas, Silas, and Timothy as they teach and baptize, establish churches and plant the seeds of faith throughout Greece and Macedonia.  Experience the "growing pains" as the fledgling church struggles with the issue of imposing Jewish law on Gentile converts.  Witness the conversion of the influential Lydia of Philippi, that throws open the door for the young church to step boldly into Europe.  Then, as the full force of Paul's powerful commitment is unleashed, fall captive to the passionate eloquence that stirs the ancient world.

As we return with Paul to Jerusalem, he ignores repeated warnings of personal danger, to follow the call of the Holy Spirit.  Walk with Paul through the streets of his beloved city.  Stand with him in the temple as he is brought before the Sanhedrin, where his vigorous denunciation of their hypocrisy triggers a riot.  Then, as he is rescued by imperial soldiers and imprisoned, witness the pivotal events that will carry the flame of faith from the dusty Judea to the heart of the Roman empire.  Uncertain how to deal with this charismatic Roman Jew, whose passionate beliefs and eloquent words shake their worldly cynicism, the Romans send him to Caesar for judgment.  Living quietly amid the splendor of imperial Rome, Paul continues to teach and baptize, strive for harmony between Jewish tradition and Christian belief and plants the seeds of change at the heart of the civilized world.

Who Is Jesus?

Vision Video

He was born into a poor family and spent most of His life at hard labor.  He never held a political position and spoke publicly for only three years before He was murdered at the young age of 33.

He never traveled more than 90 miles from His hometown, yet He changed the whole world.  In fact, He changed history - every time you write a date it reflects the years since His birth.

The video gives a fascinating, accurate and deeply moving account of Jesus' life - showing what happened 2000 years ago and why it is important for us today.

NOTE:  The video includes a 7-minute testimony by actor Bruce Marchiano who portrays Jesus in the video.  It is suggested that the testimony at the end of the film by Bruce Marchiano NOT be shown.

Yeshua

Vision Video, 1985

Dr. Oswald Hoffman reveals ancient customs and beliefs with exceptional clarity and detail.  This five-program series moves across more than 2000 years of history, from the time of Abraham through the efforts of the Jews to possess and hold the promised land, to the birth and life of Jesus (Yeshua).

Tape 1 contains:

The Land and the Promise – UR of the Chaldees, birthplace of Abraham, begins the narrative. Continuing through the fall of UR, Abraham’s entrance into the promised land, and the exile of the chosen people in Egypt, part one ends with their return to a homeland soon taken over by Rome and governed by the wily, paranoid half-Jew, Herod.

The Promise Takes Root – This episode begins with the angel’s visit to Mary and proceeds through the presentation of Jesus in the temple at Jerusalem after the family’s return from exile.

Voice and the Light – The cries of John the Baptist lead into a portrayal of the community of zealous Jews at Qumran where John, perhaps orphaned as a child, may have grown up.  Moving through the events of Jesus’ early ministry,  a beautiful re-enactment of a Jewish wedding is shown – much as Jesus might have seen it at Cana

Tape 2 contains:

The Bread of Sacrifice – As the life of Jesus nears its close, He prepares His followers for His coming sacrifice.  Draw nearer to the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice in the story of Abraham’s willingness to kill his son Isaac in obedience to the will of god.  The segment ends with Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.

Ripple of Darkness, Waves of Light – The familiar mysteries of  Christ’s death and resurrection take on a strong immediacy in this final episode.  After dramatic re-enactments of the torture, execution, burial and resurrection of Christ, the segment explores research on the Shroud of Tourin.

No Apologies:  the truth about life, love and sex

Focus on the Family Films, 1998

With so much competing for their attention, it’s easy to understand how teens can get confused while trying to figure out life ---especially when making choices about sex.  They need to be encouraged that they do have the power to make smart decision when it comes to sex---but first they need to hear the truth.

This video gives young people a side of the story they don’t always hear:  it’s their side---straight up with no sugarcoating or reservations.  It’s teens talking to teens about life, love and sex.  Teens hear from real people their own age and from others looking back about how their lives have been affected by choices of pre-marital sex and abstinence.

Austin O’Brien hosts this video which delivers an message about strength, courage and character---revealing the importance of waiting until marriage to have sex, and uncovering what happens when teens don’t.
