Excellent. Two teachers also had other suggestions: a 5 minute silent prayer especially for high school, helps destress students. Another teacher said one of the fifth grade teachers does that the same thing at the beginning of her class to help them focus since most are coming directly from school. |

Storytelling Tabor Publishing, 1993 In this video Dr. Maureen Gallagher and Rev. John Shea discuss the importance of storytelling and show teachers and parents how to teach through storytelling. The dos and donts are covered. The tape is in two parts. Part 1 is telling the story (20 min), Part 2 is processing the story, see what happens after the story is told, how to help children "get" the implications of the story (25 min). Segment to be reviewed: Part 1, Telling the Story. 20 min |
Good. One criticism was Maureen Gallagher did
not let all of the children speak before she began the stories. Note: Echoes of Faith also has a good section on storytelling. Also KT 4018 has 4 one hour tapes by Robert Bela Wilhelm Storytelling for Self-Discovery. Includes Language of Storytelling, Stories for Escape and Recreation, Healing through Storytelling, Storytellers need Story Listeners, Theology of Storytelling. |

Good demonstration on teaching meditation. Some has problems with the one teacher telling younger children praying/talking with God was wasting time with God, but this could be a cultural thing. |
