Level I National Formation, Atrium Level I (Ages 3-6)

National Certified Formation

Offered by a Columbus Team of nationally certified catechists in collaboration with Karen Maxwell, Director of Formation for the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.

 

DATES:

Four Long Weekends during the spring and summer of 2008

 

LEVEL I

1st  Session  March 6-9, 2008

       ♦  Thursday evenings 6 - 9 pm   ♦  Fridays and Saturdays  9 am-4 pm  ♦  Sundays  1-5 pm

2nd Session  April 24-27, 2008

       ♦  Thursday evenings 6 - 9 pm   ♦  Fridays and Saturdays  9 am-4 pm  ♦  Sundays  1-5 pm

3rd Session  May 15-17, 2008

       ♦  Thursday evenings 6 - 9 pm   ♦  Fridays and Saturdays  9 am-4 pm  ♦  No Sundays session

4th Session  July 24-26, 2008

      ♦  Thursday through Saturday  9 am-4 pm  ♦  All day format 

At the completion of this course participants will be certified catechists to serve in a Level I Atrium 1, serving children ages 3-6 years of age. The Diocese of Columbus confers advanced certification on those who  successfully complete 90 hours of Level I training  

Donuts and Coffee

Provided daily at 8:30 a.m.

 

Lunch provided daily

 

COST: $485.00 (for entire course). Includes $35 national certification fee. A reduced fee of $30.00 is being offered to local catechists in the Diocese of Columbus. This fee reduction does not include the $35 national   association certificate fee.

Nationally Certified Formation Leader: Mary Mirrione

 “Mary Mirrione has been a catechist for 15 years in Gilbert, AZ. She has been a formation leader for 10 years.  She serves as the Director of the Atrium of the Little Flower at St Anne’s in Gilbert, AZ. She has also served as a National Association of CGS Board member and on the advisory board for the CGS Fund. Currently she works with children in all three levels of the CGS.  She is also working toward her Masters of Pastoral Studies at the Aquinas Institute in St. Louis MO. with an emphasis in the teachings of CGS.”

         ♦   Saturday - Friday  9:00a.m.-4 p.m.
Participants must have Level I CGS formation to attend this course.

At the completion of this course participants will be certified catechists to serve in a Level II Atrium 2, serving children ages 6-9 years of age. The Diocese of Columbus confers advanced certification on those who  successfully complete 90 hours of Level I training

Provided daily at 8:30 a.m.

Cost: $300.00 (cost for entire part two)

Catechists of Diocese of Columbus will receive a 50.00 fee reduction. Tuition does NOT include $35.00 fee for CGS National Certificate

Nationally Ceritifed Formation Leader: Catherine Maresca, MA

“Catherine Maresca, MA., is a catechist at Christian Family Montessori School (CFMS). She studied the Caechesis of the Good Shepherd with Rebekah Rojcewicz and Sofia Cavalleti. She conducts formation courses in the Catechesis around the U.S. as well as at CFMS. She is founder and director of the Center for Children and Theology in Mount Rainier, Maryland, where she continues to research the spiritual life of young children.”
