Religious Education and Catechesis

The Office of Religious Education and Catechesis is under the
leadership of the Bishop. Catechesis is a priority and centerpiece of
evangelization. It is rooted in Sacred Scripture, Liturgy, and Tradition
and is a response of the Church to the missionary mandate of Jesus to
spread the Good News.
We the staff of the Office of Religious Education and Catechesis
are dedicated to providing authentic, effective, and lifelong catechesis.
Our focus is the support of catechetical leaders in their responsibility
to form disciples of Christ.

- Office of
Youth and Young Adult Ministry
- The mission of the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry
is to serve those who serve the young Catholic Church. The
office serves parish and school leaders by providing support and
direction for a variety of ministries: parish youth
ministry, high school campus ministry, Catholic Scouting (BSA
and GSUSA), Recreation, Safe Environment Program, parish young
adult ministry, and college/university campus ministry.
The OY&YAM also coordinates diocesan direct-programs for young
people such as the High School Youth Rally, Walking Stations of
the Cross, Gospel Road, and the Diocesan Youth Council.
- OCSAA (through
the Catholic Conference of Ohio)
The Ohio Catholic School Accrediting Association (OSCAA) was formed
in 1994 to strengthen Catholic school identity and mission and to
engage Catholic schools in the ongoing improvement of learning. The
OCSAA is a collaborative undertaking of the Catholic dioceses in
Ohio and is governed by the Superintendents of Schools with serves
as the OCSAA Commission.
- Safe &
Drug-Free Schools Consortium
We offer cooperative programs regarding
violence, alcohol, tobacco and other drug programs from kindergarten
through 12th grade with the support of resources authorized in the
federal Safe & Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1994. We
serve the Franklin County Ohio school districts.
