Diocesan Certification

The Diocese of Columbus offers three levels of Catechist Certification
  • Introductory Level--18 hours: Completion of Course 1: Person as Catechist
  • Basic Level--40 hours: Completion of Introductory Certification and 22 hours (11 sessions) from any other course.
  • Advanced Level--70 hours: Completion of all courses.
Diocesan Certification Courses
  • Course 1: Person as Catechist--9 two hour sessions
  • Course 2: Scripture--5 two hour sessions
  • Course 3: Christ and the Church--5 two hour sessions
  • Course 4: Liturgy and Sacraments--4 two hour sessions
  • Course 5: Morality--4 two hour sessions
